This month's Undercroft Gallery Art Show will feature works by church member Sharon Wilcox-Wilson. Here is a description of the exhibit by the artist.
Paintings – Oil on Canvas
My paintings deal with the pure pleasure of colors, pattern, light and shadow.I hope you will be reminded of the quiet sound of lapping water, the whir of a dragonfly or the scent of freshly cut grass on a cooling breeze ruffling through your hair
Prints – Ink on Rives BFK
My intaglio prints reflect a deeper reflection on the nature of reality, creation, destruction, and our place of being in the cosmos.
Intaglio prints are created by selectively exposing a zinc plate to nitric acid. The acid etches a line or a tone or a photographic image depending upon the process chosen by the artist. Once etched, ink is rubbed into the resulting acid bitten areas. The plate is then run through a press with dampened paper to create the final print.
