The UU quilters enjoy the opportunity to show off their work in December every other year.We think this is our fourth show. This show has some interesting work in it.Note the wall of animals – it is a wall of something old, something new, something borrowed something blue. That was a surprise for us as we hung the wall.
The kitchen wall is most interesting. The three quilts are all made from a book of block patterns known as One Hundred Modern Blocks by author, Tula Pink.As you walk in the door, the first quilt on the left, a not quite finished beauty, uses 69 of the potential hundred for the quilt right now.The middle quilt, made by Al Schwartz uses all 100 of the blocks. The furthest quilt, made by Annie Stunden, also uses all 100 blocks. The 100 blocks in each quilt are all the same size.Note that the blocks are all made of different fabrics and the size of the sashing between the blocks is different. Thus Al’s quilt is 90x90 inches and Annie’s is 72x72 inches. Can you find the same block patterns in the three quits?
Wall three has a potpourri of beautiful quilts made by our talented quilters. Each quilt has a story and most of the quilters have pinned their story on their quilts.
There is a rack by the piano with quilts that are for sale. Some of the quilts hanging are also for sale. See The quilter to talk about the acquiring of a quilt.
Quilters reception and drawing for kite quilt are December 9 about noon.
Enjoy our show!!!
