Lifespan Learning

We believe that human beings can grow spiritually, morally, and intellectually throughout their lives. The Lifespan Faith Development Council, which coordinates our lifespan faith development programs and activities, includes the following groups:

Adult Lifelong Learning Steering Team
Adult Lifelong Learning plans, publicizes, and evaluates adult learning programs within the church, including film showings, courses, lectures, discussion groups, and retreats. Committee members are appointed. Contact Steven Mead..

Bookstore Team
The Bookstore is open the first Sunday of each month and sells Beacon books, CDs, UU inspired jewelry, and UU Note cards. Contact Cathy Kerr.

Campus Ministry Endowment Committee
The purpose of the Campus Ministry Endowment is to extend the ministry of the First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh to local universities and colleges.

Endowment for Ministry with Children and Youth Committee
The purpose of the Endowment for Ministry with Children and Youth is to provide financial support for the religious education program (infancy through the end of high school) of the First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh.

Library Team
The Library Team oversees the First Church library by sorting, reviewing, and shelving books (and chasing the occasional missing volume) that First Unitarian Church members may then check out according to the guidelines posted in the library. Contact Mary Schinhofen.

Religious Education Team
This groups helps support the Religious Education program, acts as a steering committee, and helps review new curricula. By appointment of the Lifespan Religious Education Director.

Sunday Morning Forum Steering Team
Forum is a speaker series considers the broad weft and warp or topics that engage our heads and our hearts. The format is a shrot presentation (20 to 40 minutes) followed by vigorous discussion for another half hour. Committee members are appointed. Contact Kim Francis.

UU Christian Fellowship
The UUCF INTENT is to provide a respectful, stimulating weekly forum in which any UU, but especially those who identify themselves within the Christian realm of our diverse faith spectrum.

Young Adult Steering Team
The Young Adult Steering Team is made up of Autumn Detchon, Young Adult and Campus Ministry Coordinator (ex officio), Cate Flanagan, and Taylor Paglisotti.
