“THE STORY OF RACHEL CORRIE”
BY MADELINE IZZO

PROCEDURE FOR RECEIVING THE SCRIPT

The First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh is happy to make the script of “The Story of Rachel Corrie” by Madeline Izzo available to congregations, non-profit organizations, and individuals. (See sample script.)

For a fee of $25, a congregation, a non-profit organization, or an individual will receive via email a pdf copy of the script of “The Story of Rachel Corrie.” This $25 fee includes the right to present one (1) performance of “The Story of Rachel Corrie.”

For all subsequent performances after the first performance, the First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh expects an additional fee of $15 for each performance. Thus, if a congregation or non-profit organization (the “Performing Organization”) presented the play four times,
the total fee payable to the First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh would be $70.

The Performing Organization may make as many copies of the script of “The Story of Rachel Corrie” as required for the performances it presents.

Performances of “The Story of Rachel Corrie” may be public or private. Donations may be requested and admission may be charged for these performances, and all revenues collected may be retained by the Performing Organization. Performance rights may not be transferred to another Performing Organization.

Costumes, blocking, lighting, sets, music, and other staging arrangements shall be at the discretion of the artistic director or presentation committee working with the Performing Organization. However, the script may not be altered in any material way.

Eighty percent of all fees collected by the First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh for copies of the script and performance rights for “The Story of Rachel Corrie” will be given to The Rachel Corrie Foundation for Peace and Justice. The remainder will be retained by
the First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh to support its work on behalf of justice and human rights.

To get the process started, please complete and mail the “Application for Receiving the Script of ‘The Story of Rachel Corrie’ by Madeline Izzo.”

If you have further questions, please contact Rev. David Herndon at 412/621-8008, extension 102, or at dherndon@first-unitarian-pgh.org.
