DESCRIPTION:Sanctuary\n\nZedashe Ensemble is an internationally known polyp
 honic vocal choir and dance group based in the eastern medieval fortress c
 ity of Sighnaghi\, Caucasus\, Georgia. It is one of the few mixed (male an
 d female) choirs in Georgia that is led by women. Directed by Ketevan Mind
 orashvili\, the ensemble was founded in the mid-1990s to sing polyphonic c
 hants unique to Georgia that were largely lost during the Communist era. T
 he complex three-part melodies date back to pre-Christian times and compri
 se music sung for the Orthodox liturgical services. Zedashe’s repertoire
  also includes folk songs\, instrumental melodies\, and accompanying dance
 s\, which were collected from old publications and learned from village so
