Free for Members. $15 USD for BIPOC friends.

We invite DRUUMM members to participate in our Spring 2022 Cultural Caucusing Day. This is an opportunity to connect with Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in Unitarian Universalism as a whole, and then have intentional space in culturally-specific caucus rooms.

As we face a world on fire and the dehumanizing impact of racism, we need one another more than ever for our own healing and liberation. We are organizing these member-led BIPOC spaces with the intention of deepening our connections with one another, being present to one another’s stories and truth, and fostering systems of care.  This is sacred work that makes space for the spirit and shapes our UU faith.

Each of us comes from a lineage of ancestors and is preparing the ground for descendants around us. As Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in North America, we have experienced displacement, loss, and violence that alienates us from our communities. Our intention is to explore sacred questions at the intersection of the individual and the collective, asking one another “How are we a continuation of the life before us?”.

Registered participants will join a Cultural Caucusing Day at 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Pacific/1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Eastern, Saturday, April 30th via video link through Zoom. After a whole community opening, we will invite participants to join a culturally specific breakout room facilitated by DRUUMM member-leaders, before coming back together for a closing.

This is a BIPOC-only program. Allies for Racial Equity hosts programs for White anti-racist allies, see www.uuare.org for registration information.
