We have had four great art shows in the Undercroft Gallery since we came back to church in September – a quilt show with the work of the UU Seven Sisters Quilt Group, our annual member art show, a show of the work of guest artist, Miquel Hoyos, and the December member and friends Fiber Arts Show. The Art Committee says thank you to all the artists who participated in our shows, and, of course, we thank the congregation for visiting the Gallery and enjoying the work of these talented folks. Coming up in January, many of you will be exhibiting your phone photos in the Undercroft. The Art Committee will be matting and hanging these photos before the New Year. The photos demonstrate that we are all artists.
In the New Year, we will be seeing the work of more guest artists as well as members of our congregation. We also have two special events in the planning stages. Mary Schinoffen will be teaching a college workshop in the spring. Watch for more information and the opportunity to register for this workshop. Work created in the workshop will be hung in the gallery during the summer. And – we are hosting an art show of the work of the Creative Citizens Studio. Creative Citizens is a non-profit organization that works with artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities to make, exhibit, and sell their work. That show is scheduled for this April.
Watch this space for more information about upcoming shows, and please be sure to visit the Undercroft Gallery to enjoy the art.
