Members from the Art Committee and CCS Teaching Artist, Katy DeMent, hung the Art Show in the Undercroft Gallery this past Thursday. Look at the work these CCS artists did as they considered the bridges of Pittsburgh and our current, and perhaps future, models of transportation. Creative Citizens Studio (CCS) uses art to bring people of all abilities together. Artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities have been looking at and learning about the regional challenges around Pittsburgh’s Bridges and Transportation as they do their art.. Students have used a variety of media for this work. (Be sure to check out the wooden models on the marble table). Many of these works were created on handmade papers as part of the 2022 Fiber Arts international Artist in Residency program led by Certified Teaching Artist Katy DeMent with support from the PA Council on the Arts. Enjoy this show, and please come to the reception for the artists that will be hosted after the church service on Sunday, April 16.
