November is a busy month for our community singers, and you are invited to join them — vaccinated and masked, of course.
Sunday, Nov 14, 7pm, Afro American Music Institute, 7131 Hamilton Ave in Homewood
– We will have fellowship and rehearsal with Rev. Deryck Tines and members of the Lemington Gospel Chorale. We will be singing some of our old favorites as well as learning some new music, including songs for the 2022 Let Freedom Sing Concert.
Tuesday, Nov 16, 7pm, First Unitarian Pittsburgh – We will have fellowship with Miguel Sague and rehearse his English translation of the familiar Ecuadorian folksong “Vasija de Barro” and rehearse other songs as well. Here is our music video of “Vasija de Barro” with an introduction by Miguel – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTEvbuQwLjI
Sunday, Nov 28, 7pm (5:30 call for singers) at Mr. Small’s Funhouse in Millvale – If you are able to learn “Vasija de Barro” in time, you are invited to perform the song with us at the CD Release Concert for Songs from the Stone Hoop- songs of Miguel Sagué and Caney Indigenous Spiritual Circle. Or you and your friends and family can purchase tickets and attend the event: https://fb.me/e/MDr7Qo4d
You are encouraged to attend either or both rehearsals, even if you do not plan to perform with us.
Again, COVID vaccination and mask-wearing is required of everyone at all these gatherings.
