Khasi Hills Sunday- what joy!

Our Khasi Hills Team had so much fun and joy sharing updates from our Indian students and hosting a whopping big buffet last Sunday. Thanks to everyone who expressed interest in our students and enjoyed the Khasi Hills and Mainland food. Our service was also viewed by our friends and colleagues, Nangroi Suting and Barri Mukhim, who sent us the following notes:

From Nangroi-
It was so grand and very touching for us to see the faces of our students and teachers on the screen with elaborations from your end. We are very thankful for the great efforts of the Khasi Hills Team.

From Barri-

Thank you Karen and team for the wonderful and meaningful service. It’s beautiful!
Our Greetings to all our friends in Pittsburgh. Say thank you from us.

We are always happy to welcome new team members and of course, to receive donations to fund the 11th and 12th grade teachers. We have approximately $2000 left in our annual goal (we follow the church year).

For those who asked, this is the Morning Assembly Opening Prayer of the school we sponsor, the Annie Margaret Barr Higher Secondary School:

Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared. We are shaped by our thoughts, we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.

Here’s the link to the service, if you want to see it (again) or share with a church friend:
