The First UU of Pittsburgh EECM team delivered its monthly meal to the EECM shelter in East Liberty on Sunday, Sept. 6.
The menu included roasted chicken, roasted potatoes, 3-bean salad, and Klondikes for 50 people. We typically cook at church together, but in these times of Covid, we all cook or buy, and then deliver independently.
We also used to stay to serve the meal and sit and eat with the residents. Now it is a quick drop off at the door with the security guard.
We know these pandemic times are especially difficult for our homeless neighbors. We’re happy to provide a little bit of comfort in these trying times. We serve every month on the first Sunday and sometimes twice if they especially need it. If you’d like to be added to the list to support this work, contact EECMTeam@first-unitarian-pgh.org.
