The Re-Opening Implementation Working Group (RIWG) invites you to a Town Hall meeting this Sunday to hear the latest about our plans to reopen, ask questions, and contribute your thoughts, hopes, and concerns about re-opening our church building.

We want to know what you think! What should our priorities be as we formulate a re-opening plan? What concerns do you have about re-opening? We will give a brief overview of our decision-making process, followed by a Q&A session where we will do our best to answer your questions.

Established by the Board of Trustees at its May meeting, the RIWG is working with the Safe Reopening Task Force, the Building and Grounds Committee, and other stakeholders to develop a plan to re-open the church building, and will report back to the Board with proposed concrete steps for doing so. Members of the Working Group are Board members Kyle Gracey, Julie Downs, Kate Snow, and Eleanor Mayfield, and incoming Board member Bob Mitchell.

One question that has already come up is: After in-person Sunday services resume, will we still be able to watch live-streamed services on YouTube on Sunday mornings? The answer is Yes! We are planning for “multi-platform operations” (also known as hybrid): a flexible combination of in-person and online engagement.

If you have comments that you would like to bring to the RIWG’s attention ahead of the Town Hall meeting, please email us at reopening@first-unitarian-pgh.org.

We look forward to hearing from you, and to seeing you on Zoom on Sunday!
