Welcome to First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh
UU Climate Justice Revival
Livestreamed at 10:30 a.m. We join other Unitarian Universalist congregations coming together for a UU Climate Justice Revival as we claim Interdependence as a core value. We act to collectively reimagine a spirit-filled and liberatory future. Through conversations, worship, and advocacy, congregations will work together to realize climate justice and collective liberation in our communities.
The Share the Plate for September is Valley Clean Air Now
Valley Clean Air Now (VCAN) is a Monongahela Valley-based, air quality, nonprofit corporation. Most of our Board members live in Clairton and Glassport. We seek to create a healthier and safer environment in the Mon Valley’s Five Boroughs. In addition, we strive to educate ourselves and local residents so as to engage with local, state, and federal air quality regulatory agencies. We participate in their public events in an effort to obtain clean air, pure water, and fertile soil in the Mon Valley. pure water and fertile soil in the Mon Valley.
New UU Statement of Values
After a democratic process involving thousands of Unitarian Universalists discussing the faith’s values and core theology over the past four-plus years, delegates at the 2024 Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) General Assembly voted decisively to approve a new statement of values and beliefs for Unitarian Universalism. Read more about this historic vote.
