Art is back at First UU

Enjoy a sneak preview of the first art show of this Church year, a quilt show, in the Undercroft Gallery Sunday between 9:30 and 10:30 am.  The Undercroft is not available following our service this week, but you can do a walk through before service if that suits your fancy.  And the quilts will be on full display in the Undercroft following the remainder of the services in September.  There are some quilts that our quilters won’t part with, but many of the quilts are for sale.  A raffle is being held for one of the quilts, Colorburst,  that was made by the quilters as a collaborative project.  Proceeds from that raffle will go to our Church’s environmental justice initiative.

On Sunday, September 11, the quilters will host a pop-up quilt sale in the Sanctuary.  A couple of our quilters can’t stop building quilts, so you have an opportunity to purchase a quilt for yourself or as a gift.  There will also be quilted sundries available for purchase.  See the quilt show in the Undercroft.  Check out the pop-up sale in the Sanctuary.  Both will be available after service during In-Gathering.

Additional viewing of the Quilt Show will take place on Thursday, September 15, during the Women’s Alliance lunch.  The Undercroft will be open for visits from 10:30 to 1:30 that day.  While this is primarily to accommodate folks at the luncheon, the Undercroft is open for anyone who wants to visit the show at that time.

There are HEPA filters in the Undercroft, and we are arranging that they are turned on during likely viewing times so that we have another layer of health safety in place.  Enjoy the Art!!
