Art Shows in the Undercroft don’t “Just Happen”

A look behind the scenes will show there’s a lot of cooperation and physical effort to hang a show in the Undercroft. In this photo we see three of Annie Stunden’s family members hanging one of her quilts. First, what pieces enhance each other when hung together? Then, what height? Next getting them up with the best spacing. While some are on the ladder, others are looking on to say “a little higher on the left,” or “move things to the right.”

This is the first time Annie has shown so many quilts all at once. Be sure to notice the variety of colors, patterns and shapes. Behind each quilt there is a meaning.

Remember the “I Took This Photo Show.” Make time during the next three weeks to reflect on what made you stop and focus your camera on something that was so meaningful to you that you captured it digitally. Treat yourself to an 8” by 10” enlargement that will be matted for free by the art committee if you submit it by the end of December and display it in the Undercroft Gallery in January. Check online at CVS, Walgreens, or Walmart to see how easy and inexpensive it is to get your photo enlarged.
