Title: Is Tech a religion?
The meeting will be a moderated discussion of the book Tech Agnostic, by Greg Epstein, humanist chaplain at Harvard and MIT. Everyone is welcome, whether or not they have read the book, though those who have read at least some of it will get to speak first. The moderator will pose some questions for discussion. For example, he has suggested the question “What is your reaction to the assertion that the technology industries are the world’s most powerful religion? Consider some concepts like hierarchies, charismatic leaders, vague promises of long-term universal benefits for short-term sacrifices.” ?
