First Unitarian Refugee Home Set Up

We’re excited to begin our Home Set up program to welcome a refugee family to Pittsburgh!!  Working initially with the Women’s Alliance and through the Refugee and Immigration Services of the Jewish Family and Community Services (JFCS), we piloted our first family last week. We were assigned a Congolese family with five members: a mother, a father, and 3 children (ages 18, 9, and 2 years). They should be safely settled in their new home. Many thanks to all who contributed!
Now that we have had one run-through, we anticipate expanding this effort to our whole church- stay tuned for an announcement about donations and the next family! We will start collecting general items first and then add personal items when our family is ready to move to their new home.
