A reception was held on May 14 for the artists exhibiting in the current show in the Undercroft Gallery, Home Grown. Attendees were introduced to the chickens and their eggs on Julie Stunden’s ‘urban farm’. A mini egg carton (two eggs) was on each table in the gallery so that folks could take home eggs that the pictured chickens had laid. This show is colorful and lively. We hope you have an opportunity to check it out. Because it is the final show of this church year, it will be hanging in the gallery at least through the beginning of July.
Your Art Committee is beginning the planning for the 2023-2024 year of exhibits in the Undercroft. The September Exhibit will be the traditional ‘Members Show’. We hope you are thinking about it and planning your submission for September. More information will be coming about this late in the summer. Watch this space!!
Another show that we know will be happening is a December Quilt Show. The Seven Sisters Quilters are already planning a sale to accompany the show early in December so that you have an opportunity to reduce the stash of some of your friendly quilters and to acquire a quilt or two in time for your holiday gift giving. All quilters at First Church are invited to submit their work for this show.
This is the last blurb from your art committee until late in the summer. Thank you for supporting our art exhibits, the artists who so graciously shared their work with us, and the art committee fund at church. We look forward to writing to you again toward the end of this summer.
