June’s Share the Plate Sisters PGH is the longest-running black trans led organization in the city, serving the trans and nonbinary community of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. With a focus on housing initiatives, Sisters PGH connects clients with resources such as behavioral health services, case management, rent and utility assistance, and more. Now located downtown, Sisters PGH is proud to welcome the trans and nonbinary community to The Stonewall Inn, the drop-in center and central hub for all services Sisters provides. There, clients will be connected to the earlier-mentioned resources and have access to our washer, dryer, food pantry, clothing closet, computer lab, showers, and more. Those in our housing initiatives, such as Project T and Monica Roberts Place, also have access to the nest egg program as well as financial literacy classes. Sisters PGH envisions a world in which every trans and nonbinary individual has safe access to housing, employment, and healthcare, so that we are eventually no longer needed. Come down to 211 Smithfield St. and see how we can serve you, and check out our website to learn how to get involved! http://www.sisterspgh.org
