Rally Jan. 30 to support Minneapolis

January 30 Rally poster

The shooting of another person by ICE agents in Minneapolis is a call to action to preserve and protect our democracy.

Rev. Dr. Kate R. Walker of the First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh is working with Pennsylvania Interfaith Impact Network (PIIN) to organize an event this Friday, January 30.  First Unitarian is a founding member of PIIN and a leading religious community.

The event on Friday is being done in coordination with the Gamaliel Network.  We offer our deep sympathy to the family of Alex Jeffrey Pretti, and to the courageous people of Minneapolis/St. Paul.

More than 1,200 clergy were present for protests last week, including more than 200 Unitarian Universalist clergy.  We do this work because we know that our neighbors are our life blood and we must follow our moral call to support and protect our community.

More details to come.
