SongSpace presents Bertha and the Belles with special guest Gray Buchanan

Bertha and the Belles poster

Bertha and the Belles brings together four of the finest Country, Swing, Folk, and Old-time players in Pittsburgh. The Belles feature the powerful singing of Pam Hawley, the remarkable fiddling of Alice Backer, the lovely, rootsy vocals of Annie Trimble, AND some of the best duet and trio vocal harmony around.

In addition, the powerful rhythm section of Annie’s guitar, Pam’s banjo uke, and “Bertha” — Richard Gordon’s bass — provides a solid backdrop for a wonderful mix of folk, old time, show tunes, swing and other acoustic music. Your toes will be tappin’ and your fingers will be snappin’!

Gray Buchanan, opening for the Belles is a high-energy fiddler, singer-songwriter, and neo-traditional musician based in Morgantown, WV. They play fiddle in the acclaimed bluegrass band, The Hillbilly Biscuits, are a member of singer-songwriter folk quartet The Starlight Darlins, and regularly perform solo or with friends.

The performance is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Jan. 27.

Listen to interviews with the performers at https://m.mixcloud.com/mandorichard/bertha-and-the-belles-get-ready-for-songspace/ anytime, or live on Saturday morning January 27, 11:05 AM on the Saturday Light Brigade, WRCT 88.3 FM.
