Our operating budget remains in good shape, still somewhat better than expected. Our long-term finances also remain healthy, and we have received 71% of the contributions pledged to the Capital Campaign. All information for the 3rd Quarter Financial Report 2026 below is as of the end of September.
Revenue and Expenses
Our operating income was $466,039, 5% higher than our $437,286 budget at this point in the year. Operating expenses were $448,196, 98% of our $458,841 budget at this point in the year. Overall, this means we had net revenue of $17,843, $30,000 higher than our expected net loss of $12,249 for this point in the year.
Assets and Liabilities
Total assets were $477,743, very similar to last quarter. The total assets do not include the money in our endowments and other investments. Total liabilities were $466,589, up a bit from last quarter due to receiving Capital Campaign contributions a little faster than they were spent on new capital projects. Overall, we ended the quarter with total equity of $11,153, a combination of our $6,690 in retained debt from 2025 and our $17,843 net revenue this year.
2027 Pledge Season
Our “People So Bold” pledge campaign has kicked off for 2027! Pledges provide 81% of our operating budget and so are critical to supporting our ministry, music, staff, and other programs. By now, you should have received your default, “rollover” pledge amount. If you wish to pledge a higher or lower amount than this default, please let us know no later than Halloween by contacting a member of the Stewardship Committee or filling out the form at https://www.first-unitarian-pgh.org/pledge. If you agree with the default pledge provided, you do not need to do anything. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
