Every-Sunday Food Drive

Racial Justice Task Force’s  Every-Sunday Food Drive launches on November 8

RJTF volunteers have seen a strong, unmet need for food among families served by the Bethel and Trinity AME churches’ Hill District Food Pantry that our congregation can help fill. These families are unable for a variety of reasons— work schedules, health or daycare constraints, cost of transportation, to name a few—to access the Food Bank in Duquesne or other food pantries in the area.

Please join us in donating packaged food to our partner church, Bethel AME. We can collectively make a huge impact when each of us pulls one can or package of food from our pantries and drops it on the table near the Ellsworth entrance on Sunday mornings. RJTF will see it gets to the Pantry.

Bethel provided a shopping guide of “most requested items“ to setup their pantry shelves: initially including canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned beans, canned tuna, cereal, oats, granola bars, pasta, salt and pepper, and spices-garlic, onion, and chili powder. We need to stick to this list for now so the Pantry can provide a balanced “basket” of groceries to each family.
TOGETHER WE CAN make a beneficial impact!
