“Celebrating Our Mothers”

Mother’s Day is when we recognize and thank all mothers for their commitment to having and raising children who they love and care about. However, as we know, it’s not easy being a mother, and for those who have lost their mother, it may be a time of sadness. There is no test to qualify to be a mother and raise children. Thus, it is important to think clearly and stay calm, and not be impulsive. Let’s not forget that an effective dyad of both parents is an essential aspect to the success of being a wonderful mother.

There are responsibilities. Becoming a mother begins with a safe and healthy pregnancy. Maternal stress, anxiety, and depression during pregnancy are now clearly linked to child outcomes. Then there are the many stresses and responsibilities of life that may affect one’s ability to function as the mother they would like to be. There are behaviors that can help a mother cope with the stress of being a mother. I plan to discuss these.
