Join the Labyrinth Day celebration

Celebrate World Labyrinth Day May 1 and 2 at First Unitarian Church.

At 7 p.m. Friday, May 1, you are invited to help with a Blessing of the Labyrinth. From 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 2, celebrate World Labyrinth Day.

There will be live meditative music from 1 to 2 p.m., refreshments, and handheld finger labyrinths as an alternative to walking the labyrinth.

On Sunday, May 3, during the Pittsburgh Marathon, Alice Carnes will hold a facilitated labyrinth. This session is open to all including children of all ages and their parents. When you walk into the labyrinth, just listen to your breath. Allow yourself to release any unnecessary thoughts and busyness.

When you arrive in the labyrinth center, stop to reflect, meditate or pray. Allow yourself to receive what is there for you to receive.

As you walk out of the labyrinth, you are returning on the same path as when you arrived. It is time to reflect on the gifts you may have received. If nothing tangible occurs, don’t despair. The seeds you planted during your walk may be revealed to you in the days, weeks, or months from today, says Lauren Artress, founder of the World Wide Labyrinth.
