Anti-Racism Task Force

No matter who you are, black lives matter, and a system of fair, transformative, and restorative justice that is accountable to communities is something to which each of us has a right.  Unitarian Universalists and our greater society have the power to make this happen.

Green Sanctuary

The goal of the Green Sanctuary Team is to integrate the seventh principle into our daily congregational life, specifically celebration, education, sustainability, and environmental justice.

Justice in the Middle East

Unitarian Universalists for Justice in the Middle East (UUJME) is dedicated to a peaceful and just resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. They sponsor speakers, videos, and panels to help the community learn more about the problems and possible solutions.

Pennsylvania Interfaith Impact Network (PIIN) Team

This group connects First Unitarian Church with the Pennsylvania Interfaith Impact Network (PIIN), a network of congregations and organizations in Southwestern Pennsylvania committed to drawing together people of faith to act powerfully on local and regional issues of justice and fairness. Through the processes of community-building, working with politicians and policy makers, direct action, and negotiation, we transform our communities.

Social Justice Endowment

The Social Justice Endowment Committee makes decisions about allocation of available Social Justice Endowment funds to promote the social application of Unitarian Universalist religious principles. By appointment only.

UUJusticePA

On a state level, First Unitarian Church is part of the Unitarian Universalist Justice Pennsylvania (UUJusticePA) formerly UUPLAN. This organization unites us with other Unitarian Universalists throughout Pennsylvania with the purpose of giving voice to our liberal religious values in the state legislative process in Harrisburg.

Welcoming Congregation

Being a Welcoming Congregation means that First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh affirms and includes people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer at every level of congregational life — in worship, in program, and in social occasions.
